FTHS and MNHS Students Take Part in FCCLA Leadership Service Event
On February 7, 2015, the New Jersey Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state officers participated in a leadership service event at Ronald McDonald House Charities in Camden.
Heather Paul, a sophomore at Freehold Township High School, and Julia Farhat, a senior at Manalapan High School, joined their fellow New Jersey FCCLA state officers to cook a meal for more than 30 residents and their families at the Ronald McDonald house in Camden. New Jersey FCCLA has ongoing community service projects with the Ronald McDonald houses. The group also collects pull tabs and are collecting items for Ronald McDonald’s wish list at the New Jersey FCCLA State Leadership Conference.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities addresses the challenges that families face when a child is ill. Whether it involve housing that’s near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community, Ronald McDonald House Charities assists.
