NJROTC Named Most Outstanding Unit in the Nation

Colts Neck's 2022-2023 NJROTC UnitIt has been an impressive year for the Navy Junior ROTC (NJROTC) Magnet Program at Colts Neck High School!

Colts Neck was named the "Most Outstanding Unit in the Nation." It is the second time in four years the unit has received this recognition. Colts Neck is the top unit out of more than 650 units from across the globe. 

In addition to that honor, this year has also seen the unit named NJROTC Area 4 Academic, Athletic, and Drill Champions for the 10th year in a row. The group also finished 8th at the National Academic, Athletic, and Drill Championship in Pensacola, Florida.

Colts Neck hosted the NJROTC National Academic Championship (known in the Navy as 'Brain Brawl') with teams from California, Texas, Nevada, Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Indiana in attendance. Colts Neck's unit was recognized as a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for the 15th year.

Also, the Class of 2023 will see:

  • Two Cadets going to the US Military Academy at West Point.
  • One Cadet going to the US Air Force Academy.
  • One Cadet going to the US Merchant Marine Academy.
  • Two Cadets going on Army ROTC Scholarships to Belmont University in Tennessee to study Nursing and will complete Army training at nearby Vanderbilt University.
  • One Cadet is going on a Navy ROTC Scholarship (Marine Option) to Villanova University.
  • One Cadet is going on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship to the University of Miami.
  • In addition, one Cadet received a full academic scholarship to Princeton University.   

Almost all of the Class of 2023 will matriculate at major universities, and one has chosen to learn the trade of auto repair.
