June 24 Update - End of the School Year

June 24, 2020

Dear Freehold Regional Community,

The 2019-2020 school year has come to an end. This year was one we won’t soon forget. I want to thank you for your support over the last three months.

When we walked out of the doors of our schools on March 13, no one could know that it would be for the final time. The switch to Remote Learning was a process and I want to thank you all for working with us as everyone adjusted to this new format of education.

The last three months have not been easy, but what we accomplished in that time is remarkable. Even virtually our students continued to shine and excel in their academic and extracurricular activities. Our community saw students and staff providing items to front line workers and showing an outpouring of support to those most affected by COVID-19.

With this school year at a close, we now look toward September and what our educational program will look like at that time. We are preparing for various possibilities and have plans for multiple options allowing us to pivot as needed. I want to thank the community members who have volunteered their time to be a part of our Focus Group discussing these plans. Throughout the summer, we will continue to keep you updated on how schools will open in September.

Finally, I wish the Class of 2020 a heartfelt farewell and a much deserved congratulations as they have persevered academically and socially during this monumental time.  We are excited to recognize our Seniors today during each school’s Virtual Graduation Ceremony.  I hope you enjoy these virtual celebrations as we continue to plan for an in-person program during the week of July 27th.
