April 24 - COVID-19 Update to the Community

April 24, 2020

Dear FRHSD Parent/Guardian,

As we continue to respond to the school closure as a result of COVID-19, we have permitted the targeted use of Google Meet. The purpose of Google Meet is to provide faculty and staff an option for additional instructional support. This may include providing direct feedback, clarifying critical concepts or any other use as determined by the teacher. This tool is not a substitute for the delivery of instruction and participation in any Google Meet is not required.

The live session may be provided to an individual or small groups of students. These Google Meets are live and will potentially include direct interaction with other students. We understand that these interactions are not conducted in the same context as a regular classroom, thus the session will be recorded as a safeguard for students and faculty. Students are not permitted to record the Google Meet session.

If the faculty member decides to utilize Google Meet, the faculty member will invite your child to participate. If your student elects to enter the Google Meet and participate, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the conditions noted above and students will be expected to follow the Freehold Regional High School District’s Network Use Agreement which you can review via the Student/Family Handbook.

We know this is a challenging time for our families. If your circumstances change and you need assistance, please reach out to us. We also have counseling and wellness resources available on our website. We continue to look at all viable options to celebrate the Class of 2020 so that our seniors receive the recognition they deserve.

We are here for you,

Dr. Charles B. Sampson
