March 13 - COVID-19 Update

MARCH 13, 2020 -

Dear FRHSD Parents/Guardians,

In an abundance of caution to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, all Freehold Regional High School District schools will be closed for two weeks, effective Monday, March 16, 2020. All extracurricular, athletic events, educational excursions and community gatherings are suspended until further notice.

The District will follow the alternate schedule below:

  • The District will utilize three inclement weather days on March 16, March 17, and March 18.  School will not be in session and students are not required to engage in remote learning.
  • The District will shift its Spring Break days to March 19, 20, 23, 24 and 25. School will not be in session and students are not required to engage in remote learning.

The District has decided on this schedule in an effort to minimize academic disruption for our students. We will implement remote learning on Thursday, March 26. The FRHSD Remote Learning Plan outlines guidelines and expectations for the students as they begin their remote learning.  In accordance with the NJ Department of Education, remote learning days will count towards the 180 school day requirement.

Students and families are strongly encouraged to review the FRHSD Remote Learning Plan. Student assignments will be posted in each teacher’s Google Classroom.  Students should check their Google Classrooms each day of remote learning and complete and submit assignments as outlined.

FRHSD will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves in consultation with the NJ Department of Health and the NJ Department of Education.  All updates will be communicated via www.frhsd.com, social media, emails, and/or robocalls.

Thank you for your assistance in maintaining the learning process for our students while we make every effort to ensure the health and safety of our community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles B. Sampson

Superintendent of Schools
