MNHS Junior Wins Prestigious Cybersecurity Awards at Both National and State Levels

Krish ShahKrish Shah, a junior in the Science and Engineering Magnet Program at Manalapan High School, achieved significant recognition in the field of cybersecurity. He was awarded both the National Cyber Scholar award from the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation and the first-place winner award in the NJCCIC CyberStart Achievement Awards.

The National Cyber Scholarship Foundation named Krish Shah a 2024 National Cyber Scholar. This prestigious national-level award comes with a $3,400 scholarship for professional cybersecurity training. Krish earned free access to the SANS Cyber Foundations Academy (CFA), an online course designed to provide comprehensive training in cybersecurity fundamentals. Through this scholarship, Krish has completed and successfully passed the certification for the coveted GIAC GFACT certification. This achievement not only enhances his knowledge but also significantly boosts his future career prospects in the cybersecurity field.

At the state level, Krish was recognized as the first-place winner in the 2023/2024 NJCCIC CyberStart Achievement Awards. This program, organized by the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell, celebrates outstanding achievement by New Jersey students in the national CyberStart America competition. Krish achieved the highest possible score of 147,600 points in the CSA game, placing him in a four-way tie for first place alongside other top performers from New Jersey. Krish was also awarded the NJCCIC Rookie of the Year for achieving the highest possible score as a first-time player in the CyberStart America competition.

Krish expressed his gratitude to the NJCCIC and the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation for providing these opportunities. He is also thankful to his teachers for their guidance and support throughout his journey.
