MRHS’s We the People Team Qualifies for Nationals

Marlboro High School's We the People Team has qualified for the National competition. Eighteen students will be representing Marlboro at the competition held in the Washington, D.C. area.

Marlboro High School earned second place in the state-level competition, receiving a wildcard qualification to nationals.

The competition is made up of six unit groups with between three or four students in each group. Each unit group has a different set of research questions based on the Constitution, law, politics, and history. Students in each unit group develop a four-minute oral presentation based on each research topic and present the presentation before a panel of judges. Then, students must answer the judges’ unique questions for six minutes (for the state competition) and eight minutes (for the national competition). Each judge then provides a score based on the oral presentation and how effectively they answered questions.
