Staff Spotlight - Lisette Salguero
Every year, teachers and educational professionals from each Freehold Regional High School District school are selected to be honored in the Monmouth County Governor's Educator of the Year Program. We are recognizing each of the 2022-2023 recipients in a Staff Spotlight series. This week, we highlight Lisette Salguero, a Child Study Team School Social Worker at Freehold High School.
Ms. Salguero has been at Freehold High School for eight years and said she was shocked when named the Educational Professional of the Year for Freehold.
"I appreciate the trust and confidence my coworkers have in me and truly enjoy working with the adolescent population, their families, and the community," Ms. Salguero said.
Her proudest accomplishment in her professional career has been seeing students and their families overcome the many obstacles they experience.
"There is no greater feeling than watching your students graduate and pursue their goals. I truly enjoy providing them with the support they need in their academic journey. Being bilingual, I especially enjoy helping families get involved in their child's academic journey in spite of language barriers," she reflected.
Her tip to individuals considering a career in education is that this field is one of the most rewarding careers anyone could choose.
"Regardless of the obstacles we may face, we are truly making a difference and sowing a seed into every student we work with," Ms. Salguero described.
