MNHS SAVE Club Paints Games at Recreation Center

The SAVE Club at Manalapan High School has been working with Jenine Tankoos of the Manalapan Township Environmental Commission on a project to paint sidewalk games on the asphalt at the Manalapan Recreation Center as a part of the Eco Patio Project.

The Eco Patio Project was started by Jenine Tankoos to raise community awareness of environmental issues. It features a Monarch Butterfly Garden, a Rain Garden, a Permeable Patio, benches made from recycled materials, a Book Niche, photo opportunity murals painted by SAVE Club members in 2017, and now sidewalk games.

“We hope this area will be a fun, educational place for people to visit with their children,” SAVE Club advisor Nora Cavaluzzi said.

The group is expected to also paint a mural on the side of a storage facility at the recreation center in the fall.
