April 29, 2021 - Monmouth County now in the “moderate/yellow activity level” for COVID-19

April 29, 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As per the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), Monmouth County is now considered to be in themoderate/yellow activity level” for COVID-19.  As a result of this designation, the Freehold Regional High School District will implement the following changes to COVID-19 protocols in accordance with the NJDOH and the CDC.

  • Quarantine Close Contacts:  FRHSD will not quarantine persons determined to be a close contact to a person who was exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. *FRHSD will still quarantine persons who are close contacts to a person confirmed to have COVID-19.
  • Quarantine Time Requirement:  If a person is determined to be a close contact to a person confirmed to have COVID-19, they must quarantine for 10 days without testing OR 7 days with a negative test result (molecular-PCR or antigen) collected at 5-7 days. (not before day 5*The quarantine has been reduced from 14 days and you can now “test out” of quarantine.

As a reminder, the New Jersey Department of Health defines “close contact” as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.)

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles B. Sampson, Superintendent
