FHS DECA Sending 24 Students To Nationals
Freehold High School’s DECA chapter had 104 students compete at the State Career Development Conference held at the end of February and will be sending 24 students to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The students competed in role play scenarios as well as presenting research projects.
Two seniors, Alex Mackesy and Leslie Cruz, won scholarships at the event. Alex was awarded a $1,000 regional scholarship and Leslie was awarded a $1,500 state scholarship.
In addition to the scholarship honors, the following students won first place on either their category test or presentation:

Hailey Schneider (junior): Restaurant and Food Service

Angela Russo (freshman): 4th place Start Up Business Plan
Joseph Famularo (senior): 6th place Sports and Entertainment Marketing

Freehold High School also received spots to nationals for participating in a fundraiser for Bridge of Books Foundation which raised $900, for completing their membership campaign, and the Chapter Activity Project.
Nicholas Brophy was selected to serve as the 2018-2019 New Jersey DECA Central Region Vice President.
