Three HHS Seniors Recognized as National YoungArts Foundation Winners

Howell's National YoungArts Foundation winners Three Howell High School seniors were recognized as National YoungArts Foundation winners for 2017. Renee Chen, Audrey Chu, and Alexandra Cusumano were part of a group of 700 students selected from over 8,200 applicants from across the United States.

According to its website, each year since 1980, the National YoungArts Foundation awards over $500,000 to hundreds of emerging young artists. Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of accomplished artists, YoungArts winners receive valuable support, including financial awards of up to $10,000, professional development and educational experiences working with renowned mentors, and performance and exhibition opportunities at some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions.
