MNHS Bravecast Debuts Behind the Scenes Documentary

This summer, Manalapan High School Bravecast students spent over 300 hours directing, writing, and producing a  documentary showcasing how these students broadcast a live program to the entire school and community every Friday.

This 30-minute documentary provides viewers with an exclusive inside look at the pre-production and production process that students put into creating broadcasts each week. The film is directed, written, and produced by seniors Emily Katz and Spencer Finkler, co-filmed by Gracie Petner, and features graphic design work by Patrick Wheeler.

First launched in 2021 by director Mr. Joseph Gerardi, the Manalapan Bravecast is Manalapan High School's student-run, in-house broadcast production program that airs live every Friday morning. The Bravecast weekly live broadcast features student achievements, sports statistics, extracurricular information, and upcoming events to foster student involvement within the school. The program is entirely student-run and staffed with producers, technical directors, scriptwriters, anchors, camera operators, jib operators, audio engineers, graphic designers, teleprompter operators, time managers, and stage managers. On a daily basis, these students take on real-world experiences out in the field, gathering and producing media coverage that airs on the weekly broadcast.
