MRHS Mural Displayed on Olympics Website
Last year Marlboro High School’s chapter of the National Art Honor Society collaborated with the Tokyo Joshi Gakuen School in Japan to complete a mural to be displayed at the 2020 Olympics. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Olympics were postponed, and the mural did not go on display.
Teachers at Marlboro recently received exciting news about the mural’s status. The piece is currently featured in an online gallery through the Olympics website. The virtual TOKYO 2020 NIPPON FESTIVAL wassai showcases murals from around the world.
The collaboration between Marlboro’s students and their peers in Japan was coordinated through the Japan Art Mile. Children from 206 countries and regions around the world completed murals to be showcased at the Olympics. Marlboro's mural is the only submission from the United States.
