Mellissa Iorio, a school counselor at Freehold High School, participated in the Monmouth University Social Justice Academy during the Summer of 2022. Her project, “The School to College Pipeline: Changing the Course,” was presented at Monmouth University on Friday, June 9th. 

Ms. Iorio's project focused on increasing the number of Black and Hispanic freshmen students enrolled in honors courses while increasing awareness among students, parents, school administration, and staff to understand the importance and long-term impact of ninth-grade course placement.
