FTHS Student Creates New Word for New York Times Contest

The New York Times Learning Network recently hosted a Vocabulary Invent a Word contest. The group asked young adults to turn a critical eye on their lexicon and consider what words might be missing.

More than 500 students from around the world shared their new words, and Sergio Bolanos-Yahuitl from Freehold Township High School was one of 24 selected by the newspaper.

Sergio’s new word, “inflobia” meaning fear of inflation, was selected for an Honorable Mention.
