MNHS STEP Program raises $1,734 for Local Soup Kitchen
The Student Transition Employment Program (STEP) at Manalapan High School raised $1,734 for Feed All God's Children, a non-profit organization that operates a soup kitchen in downtown Freehold every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Three students and three staff members visited the soup kitchen, located in the Parish Hall of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, on January 12th. Students presented the check to Jim Benedict, who runs the non-profit, and then helped serve for the entire lunch period.
Teacher Travis Newman said the student volunteers were reflective of their time assisting at the soup kitchen. He described the visit as a very positive experience for both students and staff.
