Students Set Spooky Tone in Downtown Freehold
Groups of students from throughout the Freehold Regional High School District gathered in Downtown Freehold to set the scene for Halloween during the annual Spooktacular Window Painting Contest on Oct. 21st.
Local businesses offer up their windows to student artists from each of the six high schools. The groups paint their designs on storefronts along streets in Freehold. From vampires to zombies to festive fall scenes, the students’ imaginations run wild and their talent is showcased to all.
Federici's Family Italian Restaurant donated 65 pizzas for the students’ lunch while they were hard at work.
This year the judges had a hard time choosing between the fantastic displays. For the first time, honorable mentions were awarded in addition to first, second and third place.
The first place window display was created by Freehold Township High School students Andrea Dumalagan and Jenna Wong.
The second place window display was created by Colts Neck High School students Amelia Fronc and Brianna Miller.
The third place window display was created by Freehold Township High School students Sabrina Krkuti, Mara Kash and Courtney Dillon.
Honorable mentions were given to:
Freehold High School’s Ariana Mexquititla and Maria Cuatlacuatl
Howell High School’s Janessa Ternosky
Manalapan High School’s Ashlyn Hovan and Rebecca Rutherford
Marlboro High School’s Lily Gilston and Matt Cruz
