MRHS We the People Team Wins State Championship
Marlboro High School's We the People team won the state championship on January 25th. It was the high school’s first time securing the state title.
Marlboro’s students took on two of the top teams in the nation during this competition. In the 29 years of the competition, East Brunswick has won 27 times and West Windsor-Plainsboro has won twice. Marlboro has been amongst the finalists in years past, but this year triumphed over the longstanding titleholders.
Marlboro’s team is advised by social studies teacher Craig Uplinger.
According to its website, the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution Program promotes civic competence and responsibility among the nation’s students. We the People simulates congressional hearings. Since its inception in 1987, more than 28 million students and 75,000 educators have participated in the We the People Program.
