Parent Conferences!

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Manalapan High School will hold its Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences on the evening of Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This program is designed for parents to meet with teachers to discuss their
child’s performance. Therefore, we ask for your cooperation and understanding when requesting a conference with a teacher. If you are unable to schedule a conference, please contact your child’s counselor or teacher directly. To
schedule a conference, please inform your son or daughter to use the form on the back of this letter. Your child will indicate your desire for a conference with the teacher who, in turn, will use the form to specify a time and location of the
conference. All conferences should be scheduled by March 4th.

Please be advised that Thursday, March 11th will be a partial day for students with dismissal at 12:03 PM. At past conferences, some parents who "dropped-in" without an appointment prompted disputes with teachers
and parents who had a properly scheduled appointment. To avoid this problem, teachers will announce the names of parents for whom they have an appointment. If there is no response, the teacher will wait a minute and
call the name again. If there is still no response, the teacher will call the name of any parent who was not present for an earlier scheduled conference, or the next parent on the teacher's list.

As educators, we recognize the importance of parent/teacher communication and we encourage parents to try and schedule an appointment to meet their child’s teachers. However, our current student enrollment makes it difficult to
schedule a conference for every child. If you are unable to schedule an appointment on conference night, you may call the school any day (732-792-7200) to speak with your child’s teacher or to arrange a different meeting time for a report of your child’s progress. Your cooperation is appreciated. I hope you will take advantage of the varied opportunities to monitor your child’s progress.

                                                                                           Sincerely, Jeff Simon - Principal

This month, you’ll be receiving a questionnaire from the US Census Bureau - its 10 questions will take 10 minutes - and filling it out will make a big difference.  Every year, the federal government allocates more than $400 billion to states and communities based, in part, on census data.  Let’s make sure Manalapan doesn’t miss out.  Mail your confidential questionnaires back by April 1st.  For more information on the 2010 census, go to: www.census.gov.
