End-of-course Biology Test

The State of New Jersey has replaced the HSPA Science with an end-of-course test in Biology. All students enrolled in biology at some point during this school year, regardless of their grade, must take this test on 5/19 and 5/20. See our Parents' Resources page for more information on this test. Also, check our calendar for a full schedule of the assessment, as well as other events throughout the month of May.

ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY FORMS: eligibility forms for Fall 2008 sports and activities are due to each school's health office by July 28, 2008. You may download these forms from each school's web site. Please click on the appropriate school seal to the right.

Board Approves Association Contract

The FRHSD Board of Education voted to approve a negotiated contract beginning on July, 2008 through June, 2012, with the Education Association at the April 28 meeting. The new contract specifies a 4.52% increase for the first three years, dropping to 4 percent in the fourth year.

FTHS FFA Holds Community Plant Sale

Freehold Township High School’s FFA will hold its annual weeklong Community Plant Sale beginning on Saturday, May 3, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Plants, grown by FFA students in the school’s greenhouse, include a variety of bedding plants, herbs, vegetables, container gardens, and hanging baskets.

Driver Safety Program Schedule Set

The Freehold Regional High School District will begin its Driver Safety Program for eleventh grade students and their parents on May 20 at Freehold Township High School. The remaining schools will run their programs in May and June: 5/28 at Marlboro, 5/29 at Manalapan, 6/5 at Howell, 6/11 at Colts Neck, and 6/12 at Freehold.

SEAC Workshop: Planning for the Future of Your Special Needs Child

Planning for the future of children with special needs will be the topic of the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) workshop on Thursday, May 15. The workshop, titled Let Go . . . Let Grow, will be held at the Manalapan High School media center at 7 p.m.

Attendance Reminder

The FRHSD does not authorize or condone “cut days.” Participation in a “cut day” constitutes cutting and/or truancy, as per the 2007-2008 Parent-Student Handbook (pp. 32-33). Seniors who participate in a “cut day” may jeopardize their privilege to walk in the graduation ceremony. Juniors participating in a “cut day” may jeopardize their senior parking privilege.
