Our mission: "Through a dynamic partnership of educators, learners and community, Howell High School will empower our students to realize their individual potential and embrace their civic responsibility." Howell High School has a rich tradition of excellence! Howell High School is located in central New Jersey in southeastern Monmouth County, New Jersey and is one school in the Freehold Regional High School District. The Freehold Regional High School District is the largest regional high school district in the State of New Jersey. It is home of six high schools, 11,000+ students, 750+ staff members, 360+ support staff, and 110+ course offerings. It began in 1926 when the doors of Freehold Regional High School opened. Students from Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold, Freehold Township, Howell, Manalapan, and Marlboro attended this high school. As the residential growth of the area continued, another school was built in Howell Township to address the increase in students. The second school, which opened in 1964, was named Southern Freehold Regional High School. The student population continued to grow and schools were added to the Freehold Regional High School District - Marlboro High School in 1968; Freehold Township High School in 1971; Manalapan High School in 1971; and Colts Neck High School in 1998. As the schools were built, Freehold Regional High School was renamed Freehold High School and Southern Freehold Regional High School was renamed Howell High School.
