Kenneth Luo Wins Prestigious Merck Science Award

By MNHS - Posted on 06 June 2014

Kenneth Luo is an exceptional student in the Science and Engineering Learning Center at Manalapan High School who excels in math and science, and who has received countless awards and honors for his accomplishments. Yesterday, Kenneth added yet another honor to his resume: he was named a Merck Scholar for being a top scorer in the Merck State Science Day test. Over 900 of New Jersey’s strongest students took Merck’s challenging exams, and Kenneth scored 4th in the State in the subject of Physics. This is an especially impressive achievement, as Merck is a renowned and respected pharmaceuticals company, and Kenneth was invited to the Merck facility in Rahway to receive the company’s personal commendations. He said about the experience, “It was a great honor to be personally recognized like that. Experiences like this make all of the work I do worth it.”
