Howell Drama Club Brings Home 5 Basie Awards

On May 21st, the Howell High School Drama Club had the honor of attending the Basie awards at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. These awards recognize the best high school theatre in Monmouth County. Nominated for a record 18 awards, the Drama Club brought home 5 trophies. Winning that evening were Nicolette Fino for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Tartuffe, Vincent DeSeno for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in The Producers, Mrs. McAllen for Best Musical Director for The Producers, Mrs. Revier and Mrs. Hale for their work on costumes for Tartuffe, and Mr. Carpenter and Miss Greberis for Best Set in a Drama Tartuffe. In addition, the Drama Club was asked to perform for all the other high schools, and this performance was met with an outstanding ovation and great praise from the area high schools. Congratulations to all involved!
