Science & Engineering Learning Center Students Win 2014 IEEE Robot Challenge

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, students of Manalapan High School’s Science & Engineering Learning Center won the 2014 New Jersey Coast Section Robot Challenge hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The competition took place at Brookdale Community College.

As a part of the competition, students were challenged to design a robot, write a corresponding report, and present their work to a panel of judges.  Manalapan High School triumphed over High Tech High School, Henry Hudson Regional High School, and Neptune High School. The students scored 88.58 out of a maximum achievable score of 100.

The IEEE is the largest professional association in the world committed to enhancing technological inventions.  The Robot Challenge is intended to support the development of student creativity and problem solving skills.
