FRHSD Students Succeed in Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Science Competition
Manalapan High School (MNHS) sophomores Thomas Colen, Tarung Bhimnatwala, Krishna Gotur, and John Klich are winners in the 2014 Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision competition! ExploraVision is one of the world's largest K-12 science competitions and is a cornerstone of Toshiba's efforts to inspire youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
As a regional winner, the team earns the chance to participate in the national and final phase of the competition. Thousands of team entries were submitted from across the United States and Canada in response to ExploraVision’s 22nd annual challenge to young people to create a vision of new technology. The MNHS team project was selected as the best project in its grade level of the competition.
Each team member will receive a Toshiba tablet as result of their success. The entire team will also receive a Toshiba laptop to be used for the next and final phase of the competition.
Regional winning team members that place first or second place in the national judging round of the competition win a $10,000 or $5,000 U.S. Savings Bond* (or Canada bond of comparable issue price) and an expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC in June with two family members.
Manalapan High School also had two honorable mention teams including Rishi Bommasani, Michael Conover, Cynthia Rishi, and Kylie Chesner.
The MHS team is under the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Bharathi Srinivas.
